- First, start by how you cut your food. Make sure that you use appropriate pressure on the food holder so that you actually engage the blade to cut properly. You should engage your arm muscles a little bit to do the cutting. Don’t expect to just brush the vegetables through this cutter and have it make clean cuts.

- Third, no matter how much you may want to, you cannot sharpen the flat-edge blade with your regular other kitchen knife sharpening tools. Also, the other side of the blade, the serrated blade is what they call micro serrated, which means the teeth on it are very small and close together. You cannot really sharpen this side of the blade at home either.
